DZHIYA

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dzhiya collects, uses, shares, protects and retains personal information when you use the Dzhiya mobile application, website and parcel pickup and logistics services.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use information

We use personal information to create and secure accounts, provide parcel pickup and collection services, connect customers with Dzhiya Points, calculate and verify payments, deliver notifications, support communication, investigate disputes, improve reliability, prevent fraud and comply with applicable obligations.

3. Payments

Dzhiya payments relate to physical parcel handling and logistics services. When you choose to pay, the app opens Paystack's secure hosted checkout. Paystack processes the payment under its own privacy and security terms. Dzhiya receives only the transaction details needed to verify and record the payment.

4. When we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the service, including with the relevant Dzhiya Point or authorised staff, payment and notification providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, professional advisers, and authorities where disclosure is legally required. We do not sell personal information.

5. International processing

Some service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, Dzhiya takes reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate for the information involved and applicable data-protection requirements.

6. Storage, security and retention

Dzhiya uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls, encrypted connections, password hashing, session revocation and restricted or time-limited access to private uploaded media. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, legitimate operational and dispute-resolution requirements, security and fraud prevention, or applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the category of information and the status of the related transaction or dispute.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account inside the Dzhiya app under Account → Delete account, or request deletion through our account deletion page.

Deletion removes or anonymises your account profile and revokes active sessions, registered devices and push-notification tokens. Certain transaction, package, support, dispute, message, rating, uploaded-media, security or audit records may be retained only where reasonably necessary for an unresolved service matter, fraud prevention, security, legal claims or an applicable legal obligation. Access to retained records is restricted, and personal identifiers are removed or minimised where practical.

8. Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or ask a question about our handling of your information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Children's privacy

Dzhiya is not intended for children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Complaints

Please contact Dzhiya first so that we can address your concern. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa through its official channels.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The current version and its effective date will always appear on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
